About us

Dobarro y Asociados: 20 years of direct, committed legal practice

A boutique law firm founded in Ferrol (A Coruña, Spain) more than 20 years ago. Specialised. Bilingual. With direct access to the partner on every matter — from the first consultation through to the final ruling.

Our history

Dobarro y Asociados was founded in Ferrol (A Coruña) at the start of the twenty-first century by Cristóbal Dobarro Gómez, then a young lawyer with a clear conviction: Spanish companies operating in regulated environments — industrial, energy, environmental, public-sector-facing — needed a specialist firm capable of accompanying them at the highest technical level without the overhead structures of large practices.

Over more than two decades, the firm has built a track record of more than 500 active clients across all autonomous communities of Spain. It has litigated before the Supreme Court, the National High Court, the High Courts of Justice and administrative tribunals. It has advised on matters worth hundreds of millions of euros and has defended businesses in sectoral regulation proceedings, major urban planning disputes and landmark environmental cases.

Today, Dobarro y Asociados is one of the reference boutique firms in Spain for businesses operating in complex regulatory environments, with a particular footprint in the industrial, energy and public administration sectors.

Our philosophy

Law is a profession of trust before it is one of contracts. A client who turns to a law firm in a dispute or a complex regulatory situation is placing their livelihood, their company or their peace of mind in someone else's hands. That responsibility is not routine.

At Dobarro y Asociados we do not accept matters we cannot handle well. We do not overstate what we can achieve. We do not present invoices for work that has not produced results. And we do not hide behind procedural complexity to justify poor outcomes.

What we do is work with absolute commitment on every matter, regardless of the fee amount, and treat every client as if theirs were the only case in the firm.

Lex Prudens — International network

Dobarro y Asociados is a member of Lex Prudens, a network of boutique law firms specialised in public business law. The network brings together firms with comparable profiles across multiple jurisdictions: deep domestic expertise, direct partner involvement and a focus on regulated industries.

For international clients or cross-border matters, Lex Prudens allows Dobarro y Asociados to coordinate with trusted counterparts in other countries — without sacrificing the boutique quality and direct access that characterise each member firm.

Scope of practice

Dobarro y Asociados acts throughout Spain in all autonomous communities, with experience in both administrative and contentious-administrative proceedings before local, regional and national authorities, the Supreme Court and the National High Court.

For matters requiring cross-border coordination — due diligence in transactions involving international investors, regulated sectors with European regulatory dimensions, or arbitration with foreign parties — the firm operates through the Lex Prudens network.
